Robbie Fowler says Burnley manager Sean Dyche is top-class

Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has hailed Burnley’s Sean Dyche as a top-class manager.

Former Liverpool striker and club legend, Robbie Fowler has showered praise on Burnley manager Sean Dyche in his weekly column for The Sunday Mirror.

The Liverpool legend says that Premier League boasts some top class foreign managers, but he is surprised that not many lower clubs are willing to appoint a British manager at helm.

He argues that the British managers / coaches should be given proper chances so that they can also reach the same level and compete with other top managers.

On that context, the former England striker says that Dyche is doing a great job at Burnley, and that he is a top-class manager.

Burnley have really surprised everyone this season, and the Clarets find themselves sixth on the Premier League table above Liverpool.

Last season, Burnley picked up only one away win in their entire campaign. This season, they have taken points from visits to Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, and Everton, already.

Fowler is impressed with Dyche’s understanding of the tactical and technical aspects of the game, and his ability to get the maximum out of the team within the budget constraints.

“Sean Dyche is the perfect example. Look at what he has achieved with Burnley, and then tell me that he’s not a top-class coach,” wrote Fowler for The Mirror (printed edition; October 8th page 65).

“He has taken points from visits to Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool, and Everton already this season (and you don’t hear Burnley moaning about a terrible fixture list do you?)

“It’s no fluke – especially given they only won away from home last season. You only do that if you have a coach who knows exactly what he’s doing, and has deeply studied what went wrong and how to fix it.

“I do know he must be a coach who knows exactly what his teams can do and can’t do within their budget constraints, and create an intelligent plan and importantly gets results. Which is the definition of a top-class coach.”
