The striker has been linked with a move away from Liverpool.
Speaking to the Mirror, former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler has said the Reds must keep top quality players like Daniel Sturridge at Anfield.
Sturridge is currently out of favour at the club and has found himself limited to a bit-part role under manager Jurgen Klopp.
While Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane have impressed in the Reds’ front-line this season, as well as Divock Origi in recent weeks, Sturridge has had to content himself with a place on the bench.

That has led to increased speculation about his future, with some suggestions that a move could be on the cards in the January transfer window.
Fowler would be disappointed to see that happen and says his former team must keep quality players.
“The media have it in for him, but I don’t know why – when he does play he scores goals,” he told the Mirror.
“I think the unfortunate thing for Daniel, at the moment, is that he’s got players ahead of him who are playing tremendous and scoring lots of goals.
“A fit and firing Daniel Sturridge is top quality and we want top quality players at this club.”

It will certainly be interesting to see what happens with Sturridge in the coming months.
Klopp has vehemently denied that he could be leaving in the January transfer window but it is hard to see Liverpool turning down a serious bid should it arrive.
Indeed, it is easy to imagine the player himself pushing for a departure should his current situation continue.
