Speaking on the Robbie Fowler Podcast, the man himself has addressed Liverpool’s poor run of form lately, claiming that Mohamed Salah doesn’t look himself as of late.

It’s been almost impossible to criticise Salah since he arrived at Anfield in 2017, but it has to be said that he’s not been at the races lately.

The Egyptian hasn’t scored in any of his last four league games, and for a player that has scored 13 goals in 18 league appearances this term, that has to be constituted as a poor run.

Fowler was talking about Roberto Firmino’s difficulties in front of goal, before he moved on to speak about Salah.

“They are going through a difficult patch, and it’s not just him (Firmino), Salah doesn’t really look the same player, and I don’t mean that in a derogatory way, I just mean in terms of his confidence looks a bit low,” Fowler said.

“Which is quite ridiculous when you think of the player he is, the goals that he’s scored, maybe it’s the bigger picture where people are expecting too much from all of the players.”

As Fowler says, it’s quite ridiculous to be saying this, but he’s not the only one to have shared this sentiment.

If any other played had scored 13 in 18 in the league we’d be talking about a potential Player of the Year winner, but because Salah has gone off the boil for a month we’re talking about a crisis in confidence.

The Egyptian isn’t going through his best run at the club, but we’re sure that he’ll be back firing on all cylinders sooner rather than later.
