Gaetano Berardi will reportedly miss Leeds United’s match against Middlesbrough this weekend

Berardi, who can operate as a right-back, left-back or centre-back, has had injury issues throughout the season so far.
According to WhoScored, the 30-year-old has been able to make just eight appearances in the Championship for Leeds so far this campaign.
Berardi suffered a hamstring tear back in October and also had an injury during a recent Under-23 match.
Leeds United’s head of medicine and performance Price has suggested that the defender will be back for the back-end of the season, although The Yorkshire Evening Post has reported that the defender will miss the match against Middlesbrough away from home at the Riverside Stadium in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Price told The Yorkshire Evening Post: “He’s getting there.”
“His is a really difficult injury,” added Price. “You go to some surgeons and they’d say ‘that’s six to nine months’.
“We’re trying to get him back quicker from that but there’s always going to be a much higher risk of injury, perhaps for the next three months, than there would be for someone else coming back.”
Bouncing back
Leeds suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Norwich at Elland Road in the Championship at the weekend.
With Middlesbrough aiming to finish in the top six of the Championship this season, Marcelo Bielsa’s side will have their work cut out at the Riverside Stadium.
