Veteran defender Hill is set to retire after a season with Rangers during 2016-17.

Former Rangers defender Clint Hill has confirmed his retirement on Twitter after almost 21 years in professional football, and ex-Ibrox teammate Rob Kiernan posted a heartfelt message to the veteran.
Hill made his professional debut the day before his 19th birthday way back in October 1997, turning out for boyhood side Tranmere against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

Fast forward 20 years, Hill was turning out for Scottish giants Rangers at Ibrox despite being very much in his lat thirties. With the Gers, Hill made 31 league and cup appearances for the Gers – scoring an impressive six goals.
Following a season with Carlisle during 2017-18, Hill decided to hang up his boots after more than two decades in the game and former Rangers defender Kiernan reacted with a touching message on Twitter.
Hill’s best moment in a Light Blue shirt is likely to be his last-minute equaliser against Old Firm rivals Celtic at Parkhead, as the Gers snatched a 1-1 draw against Brendan Rodgers’ side under Graeme Murty.
The defender also turned out for the likes of QPR, Crystal Palace and Stoke City, clocking up an impressive 284 appearances in the English Championship and 72 in the Premier League.
Kiernan joined Hill in leaving Ibrox last summer and joined Southend United, where he has since struggled with injury.
