Arsenal defenders Kieran Tierney and Rob Holding both are starting to make their recoveries from injury.

Rob Holding of Arsenal celebrates after The Emirates FA Cup Final between Arsenal and Chelsea at Wembley Stadium on May 27, 2017 in London, England.

Arsenal defender Rob Holding has told the Telegraph that he was recently speaking about Kieran Tierney about the pressure that they are both being put under by Arsenal supporters.

Holding and Tierney have not been able to play regularly for Arsenal this term due to injury.

However, the pair have started to make their comebacks now, and they impressed on their first appearance of the campaign for Arsenal against Nottingham Forest.

The Gunners won 5-0 in the League Cup last week, with Holding on the scoresheet.

With Arsenal’s defence struggling in the early weeks of the season, there is an expectation that Holding’s and Tierney’s inclusion should strengthen the side.

And Holding admits that he is liking the pressure that he is currently being put under by the fans at the Emirates Stadium.

“I was speaking with Kieran,” Holding said. “We were saying there is actually a bit of pressure on me, Hector and him.

“Obviously the fans have been putting a lot of pressure on saying: ‘We need those three back, hopefully they can perform’. It is a healthy pressure. It’s not a draining pressure. It is pushing everyone to be better.”

Whether Unai Emery will give Tierney or Holding a chance to start for Arsenal this evening remains to be seen.

The Gunners take on Manchester United at Old Trafford later, in what looks a highly intriguing encounter.

Both Arsenal and United have experienced some problems this season already, but a win tonight would really lift the mood in both camps.

If Emery’s side are able to pick up the three points then they would move up to fourth in the Premier League table.
