Alan Smith has praised Arsenal central defender Rob Holding on Sky Sports Premier League (6:22pm, May 1, 2022) for his performance against West Ham United at London Stadium.
The former Arsenal star believes that Holding was the best player on the pitch at London Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners got the better of West Ham 2-1 away from home at London Stadium in the Premier League.
Holding started at the central defence due to an injury to Ben White, and the £2 million player (BBC Sport) scored in the 38th minute, leading to Sky Sports pundit Smith singing his praises.

Smith said about Holding on Sky Sports Premier League (6:22pm, May 1, 2022): “I think he had an excellent game next to Gabriel, scored a goal and made a couple of key blocks. He is my Man of the Match.”

Deserved praise
In our opinion, praise for Holding from Smith for his performance for Arsenal against West Ham is well deserved.
We think that the 26-year-old central defender had one of his best games for the Gunners this season.
Holding was strong and dominating at the back, and he also scored an important goal.
The Englishman is not a regular in the starting lineup, but whenever he plays, he turns up and delivers, or at least tries his very best.
