Leeds are 11th in the Championship, and take on Derby in their next Championship game.

Leeds goalkeeper Rob Green has said he his teammates stuck together despite only picking up four points from their opening six games, speaking to LUTV.

It was another summer of upheaval at Elland Road which saw 11 players arrive at the club, as well as new manager Garry Monk, which meant it took a while for the group to settle and get on the same page, but Green believes the team are performing much better now that the players know each other better.

“We started the season with 11 new players joining the squad and a lot of them hadn’t played together as the season got underway so the start of the season was always going to be tough,” Green told LUTV.

“It was a case of sticking together, believing what we were doing and the manager installing what he believed in and what we needed to do on the pitch.”

After a rocky start to like under Monk, Leeds have now won four of the last five games, tightening up at the back conceding just three goals. The West Yorkshire club now it in 11th place with 16 points, four off the playoffs, which has to be the target for Monk, although the quality up and down the division could make it a difficult task for the former Swansea boss.

The turn around of fortunes for Leeds shows Monk’s quality as a manager, and he could be the man to bring back some stability and joy to the club, providing he remains on the right side of owner Massimo Cellino.

Leeds’ next game is away to Derby County, who themselves have made managerial changes over the summer and one already this season, with Nigel Pearson losing his job having only took over in May.
