Glasgow Rangers’ Alfredo Morelos has more goals this season than both Millwall centre forwards combined.

Tim Cahill of the City attempts a shot on goal during the round eight A-League match between Melbourne City and Perth Glory at AAMI Park on November 24, 2017 in Melbourne, Australia.

Australian legend Tim Cahill, 38, has recently been linked with a return to English football in a potential move back to his first club Millwall.

However, the London club have denied such rumours, with the current free agent looking unlikely to make an emotional return to the club where it all began for him.

According to the Daily Telegraph a representative from the club said: “There is absolutely nothing in the rumours at all.”

Goalscorers,Tim Cahill and Neil Harris of Millwall celebrate victory over Tranmere Rovers after the FA Cup Quarter-Final replay match between Tranmere Rovers and Millwall at Prenton Park...

Socceroos veteran Cahill is thought to be keen on a move to Europe this January in the hope of reclaiming his place in the national team before Russia 2018 selection.

Hearts and Hibs have emerged as the two latest potential suitors with Cahill’s agent having made contact with the Edinburgh clubs according to the Daily Record.

As it stands, Hearts seems the more likely option, with Kyle Lafferty being linked with a move away from Tynecastle and Hibernian fairly stacked in terms of forward options.

Alfredo Morelos of Rangers scores the opening goal during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and St Johnstone at Ibrox Stadium on December 16, 2017 in Glasgow,...

With Millwall distancing themselves from a Cahill return, the Lions’ top scorer this season is midfielder George Saville with seven goals in all competitions, and perhaps landing a striker would not be the worst idea for manager Neil Harris.

Rangers’ youngster Alfredo Morelos, 21, has impressed in his debut season with the Gers, despite playing for a struggling Ibrox side.

The Colombian has found the net 12 times in 25 appearances, a much more impressive record compared to the likes of Millwall forward’s Aiden O’Brien and Lee Gregory who have scored five and four respectively in as many appearances as the Rangers man.

Alfredo Morelos of Rangers vies with Kristoffer Ajer of Celtic during the Scottish Premier League match between Celtic and Ranger at Celtic Park on December 30, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Morelos has carried his scoring form through the Scottish winter break and bagged a brace against Brazilian giants Corinthians in a Florida Cup friendly match in the USA.

The Lions currently sit safely in 16th place, seven points above the drop zone, however the club could undoubtedly do with some more firepower to help boost them up the table into the top half.

The 21-year-old Rangers star, claimed by Rangers fans to be worth double that of Celtic’s Moussa Dembele, could well be worth considering before the end of the month.
