Karl Robinson left Charlton Athletic by mutual consent on Thursday, with Lee Bowyer being appointed as caretaker manager in his place.

Charlton Athletic manager Karl Robinson has left the club by mutual consent, after nearly two seaons in charge.
The former MK Dons boss won 27 of his 74 games in charge, but with a takeover currently in the balance, rumours that the potential new owners wanted Robinson out may be behind the decision for club and manager to part ways.
Lee Bowyer, Robinson’s assistant at Charlton, was appointed almost immediately after Robinson’s departure, as the club go about selecting a list of potential candidates to take the club forward in the future. Johnnie Jackson, a Charlton youth coach, has been appointed his assistant.
Bowyer started his career at Charlton and made 58 appearances for the club before moving to Leeds United.

Speaking to the club website after his appointment, Bowyer said: “I’m very pleased to be given the opportunity to take this team forward. We have a talented squad of players and our focus has to be on winning games and giving ourselves the best opportunity to make the play-offs.”
But how exactly do the fans feel about the new appointment?
With many taking to Twitter to express their reaction after hearing the news, there appeared to be no real correlation or majority feeling with regards to Bowyer being appointed caretaker.
While the news broke of the new appointments, most fans were more interested in slating the club for the agonising talk of a takeover which has dragged on and on, with little information being released to the fans as to what is actually happening with their club.
Here is a round up of some of the unsatisfied reaction…
