West Ham youngster Marcus Browne topped off what has been a brilliant five days for the midfielder after he bagged each of his side’s four goals in a game against Everton away in the Premier League 2.

Last Thursday, Browne also bagged the West Ham development team’s winner, a stunning free kick, against Manchester City, and will have done wonders for his own chances in the first team for next season.

To win away is always tough, but to produce such a stunning performance twice in the space of a week against high calibre opposition in Everton and City is something that Browne and his teammates can be immensely proud of.

The Hammers tweeted a video earlier today with a clip of the 20-year-old speaking about his recent achievements, describing the four goal Everton performance as one of his best days in football so far.

“In any match or any away game, to win 4-0 is massive, and obviously I’m delighted to have scored all four goals, it’s brilliant,” Browne said.

“I think this is definitely up there as one of my best days [in football]. I don’t think you go into any game thinking you’re going to score four goals.”

Next season, Browne will face some fierce competition for a spot in attacking midfield should he be promoted to the first team by manager David Moyes. West Ham posses some real talent in his position, with Manuel Lanzini as one of the club’s standout players. Should they retain Joao Mario as well, competition for places will only grow even stronger.

However, Browne should view it as a great opportunity to play and train alongside some of the best in the business, and it should do wonders for his own game.

A clear goal threat from a variety of different areas of the pitch, the Hammers academy star looks a real bright prospect for the future at the London Stadium.
