England’s record goal-scorer spent 13 years at Old Trafford, winning all there is to win, but there was still one thing to tick off the bucket list.

Wayne Rooney returned to his boyhood club Everton last summer, 13 years after leaving Goodison Park to join Manchester United.
During his time at Old Trafford, he developed into arguably England’s greatest ever striker, breaking the scoring record for both the Red Devils and the Three Lions.
Winning every trophy possible for an English club, including multiple Premier League titles, there is little left for the England legend to achieve.

However, one thing still escaped him during his days at Old Trafford, until his return to Everton this season, where he has finally fulfilled a life-long.
As a youngster, before his big money move, Rooney bagged 17 goals in 77 appearances for the Toffees, none of which came at Anfield, however. It took the Everton man 32 years before he finally bagged a goal at Anfield for his boyhood club, netting the equaliser for his side in a the Merseyside derby earlier on this season.
“What I really regretted was I had not scored against Liverpool for Everton,” Rooney told the Telegraph.
“I did it for Manchester United but as a youngster it was never a dream of mine to score at Anfield for Manchester United.

“I was an Everton fan, so as a young Everton fan I was dreaming of scoring at Anfield for Everton. When I came back I was thinking about the chance to do that. So to do it this year fulfilled that.”
The former England captain has performed to a decent level since his return to Goodison Park and has generally quietened his many critics, who believed him to be past it.
In 20 Premier League appearances, Rooney has added a further 10 goals taking his league tally to 208 in total.
At 32, and playing in a deeper role than he did as a youngster, Rooney is unlikely to get that near to Alan Shearer’s record of 260 goals. However, a few more good years at Everton should see the Merseyside man pull further away from Andy Cole’s record of 187, further cementing himself as the second greatest ever goal scorer in the history of the Premier League.
