The Italian giants are reportedly interested in Tottenham Hotspur’s midfield anchor Mousa Dembele after his display against them in the Champions League.

Dembele joined Spurs in 2012 from cross-town rivals Fulham and has been a key member of the team for a number of seasons. However, he has recently experienced a resurgence in form following injury problems and this season has been dubbed by many pundits, fans and teammates as one of the finest central midfielders in Europe.
Mauricio Pochettino is fairly stacked when it comes to options in midfield with Dembele, Eric Dier, Victor Wanyama, Dele Alli and Harry Winks all options. However, there is no doubt that the Belgian’s presence would be sorely missed in the heart of the pitch.
With Blaise Matuidi tipped to move on from Juventus at the end of the season, if Dembele is interested in a move to Italy, Tottenham should demand the Frenchman as a makeweight for any deal involving the transfer of Dembele.

Jose Mourinho is apparently keen on bringing the Juventus star to Old Trafford as he looks to find a suitable Michael Carrick replacement. According to the Sun, the former PSG man is top of the Manchester United manager’s wish list, but with Juventus’ Dembele interest, Tottenham could no doubt swing the odds in their favour.
Matuidi, 30, is the same age as Dembele, and is a fine footballer himself. With 62 France caps, the midfielder is about as experienced as they come, and he is also a born winner having amassed a total of 16 trophies over the course of his 15-year career to date.
Should Juventus move for Dembele at the end of the season, it seems an obvious choice for Tottenham to attempt to pry Matuidi away as a direct replacement for their 30-year-old midfield maestro.
