Tottenham’s South Korean forward Son Heung-Min has taken 2017/18 by storm with his scintillating form.

Tottenham Hotspur’s 4-1 away victory over Bournemouth was overcast by Harry Kane’s ankle injury after a collision with Asmir Begovic that saw the England striker leave the field of play immediately to receive treatment.
The North London side are still right in the mix for a top four finish as they continue to battle with Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea for the final three Champions League spots after Manchester City.
If it was not for the form of Son Heung-Min, who netted another double against Bournemouth, Tottenham fan’s may be viewing Kane’s injury as disastrous for their season hopes.
However, with the South Korean performing to the level he has been this term, not least in recent weeks, they can continue to take real confidence going into the final stages of the season.

Son has been simply magnificent for Pochettino’s side this campaign and has seemed to take his game to a new level. With 18 goals so far, he is nearing his highest ever season tally of 21, and will surely be looking to go beyond this, especially considering he will likely lead the line in place of the injured Kane.
Son’s strike against Juventus in the Champions League proved he has the ability to score at the highest level in the most difficult of circumstances, against arguably the finest defensive outfit in all of European football.
What is even more remarkable is that he has done this nearly entirely form the left-wing.

In previous seasons at Spurs, there has been a real concern over who can provide competition for the outstanding Harry Kane, with the club often turning to the summer transfer window to attempt to sign a back up. Last season, Vincent Janssen was brought in only to massively disappoint, whilst this season, Fernando Llorente joined, who has not done enough to prove he can be relied upon when Kane misses out.
With Son having grown from a potential starter/bench option to one of the first names on the team sheet, it appears they have had their man to rival Kane right under their nose the entire time.
Even in Kane’s absence, Spurs should take a lot of confidence going into the last eight league games of the season with Son as the go to man up front.
