The Burnley manager believes his new signing will be hugely influential on the squad as they look to build on their terrific first half of the season.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has praised his new arrival Aaron Lennon, insisting that the 30-year-old will bring invaluable experience to his squad.

Lennon has nearly 500 games experience at professional club level, most of which have been in England’s top flight.

The former Spurs player has also won 21 caps for his country and his influence around the dressing room should be hugely beneficial to his teammates, Dyche believes.

Speaking to the club website, Dyche said: “The obvious advantages are his experience, along with his pace. He’s another rounded figure in the Premier League in our camp, because we haven’t got that many.

“He can rub off on the players as well. Some do it by the way they go about their business and their understanding of the level. He’s a different type of player in our camp because we want to keep shifting it forward.

“It’s finding that nice balance between players who can develop with us and players who are more rounded, who can add to the group.”

The speedster took to Twitter yesterday to thank his former club for everything, while expressing his excitement to get started at Turf Moor:

Burnley, who currently sit eighth in the Premier League, face Newcastle United next on 31 January and Lennon will be hopeful of earning his debut in a very winnable game for Dyche’s men.
