Scotland veteran Kenny Miller enjoyed a rare start on the weekend and bagged a goal against Dundee, his fourth of the season. And he is now tipped to play in the Celtic v Ranger Cup clash at the weekend.

Last weekend saw Rangers defeat Dundee 4-0 – the club’s first win in a couple of weeks, having endured some unsatisfactory draws following their damaging loss to Celtic at Ibrox.
Prior to the game, many fans were calling for Jason Cummings to start following news of an injury to Josh Windass, however, it was a different out of favour striker that took to the field in the starting lineup.
38-year-old Scotland veteran Kenny Miller was brought in by Rangers manager Graeme Murty, and helped inspire an important victory for the Gers, netting his fourth goal of the season on his 18th appearance.
Miller has been a rare feature this term, with Alfredo Morelos enjoying much of the Rangers lime light, but you can imagine the significance of Miller’s impact around the dressing room, especially with the younger players.
Rangers had to wait until late in the second half to get the breakthrough, which was duly converted by Miller, spurring on a second half flurry of goals which saw Morelos, Jamie Murphy and Daniel Candeias all get on the score sheet.

“For me he has the energy, he’s played in so many Rangers-Celtic games before,” Rough said, “He’s not going to let you down, he’s going to give you everything he’s got.
“As we saw at the weekend, he was the player who started the Rangers fightback.”
At 38, you would have never imagined Miller’s importance to the Ibrox club, but the 69-capped Scotland international could have a huge part to play if Rangers are to put a stop to Celtic’s second consecutive domestic treble this weekend.
