The Blues are reportedly keen in a deal which would bring both Emerson Palmieri and Edin Dezko to Stamford Bridge with Michy Batshuayi going the other way

Chelsea have made an enquiry over a potential transfer for Edin Dzeko, 31, and Emerson Palmieri, 23, in a proposed deal believed to be worth £44million according to the Evening Standard.

It is common knowledge that Blues boss Antonio Conte is after another striker to help relieve pressure on summer signing Alvaro Morata, who has carried almost all of the centre-forward burden himself.

Chelsea were reportedly in for West Ham’s Andy Carroll, however, following an ankle injury the club have ended their interest.

Peter Crouch emerged as a potential suitor with the Blues supposedly interested in a loan deal for the veteran striker, but Stoke are not keen on allowing the former Liverpool man to leave.

Emerson is believed to be the preferred candidate for the left-wing-back role over existing Chelsea man Marcos Alonso. The clubs have already begun discussions over a potential move for the full-back, only Chelsea now wish for Edin Dezko to be included in the deal.

The former Manchester City player could well transform Chelsea’s already impressive attacking options.

The Bosnian forward is a proven Premier League goal-scorer and champion, having won two titles with City during his five seasons at the Etihad.

At 6ft 4in Dezko is a target man who can finish too, scoring 72 goals in 189 appearances for the Citizens.

The Chelsea target enjoyed his most prolific season to date last year as he netted an unbelievable 39 goals in 51 games for the Serie A giants. He must have launched himself onto the Chelsea radar with a stunning double against the Blues in the Champions League earlier this season as Roma and Chelsea battled it out in a captivating 3-3 draw.

It is understood that Roma are only keen on the deal if Michy Batshuayi is included, with Roma wary of letting their star forward go ahead of the season run-in.

Should the deal fall through in terms of the forwards, however, it is believed that this will not affect any talks between the clubs over the transfer of Emerson.
