Following Liverpool’s incredible showing against Manchester City in the Champions League, Real Madrid as the only genuine threat to Jurgen Klopp’s team – that’s according to Ian Wright.

Former Arsenal and England striker Ian Wright believes Real Madrid are the only team left in the Champions League that are a real threat to Liverpool, but still believes Jurgen Klopp’s side can be crowned European champions.
Speaking to SkySports’ The Debate on Wednesday, Wright said that Liverpool will be pleasesd that Barcelona went out to Roma, citing the Catalans as a tricky opponent for the Reds. Wright suggested that Real Madrid are now the only team left in the competition that pose a real threat to the Merseyside club.
“I think you’ll find that there is a lot of belief in the Liverpool side now because they are close enough,” the Arsenal legend explained.
“I’m not sure they should be bothered about anybody apart from Real Madrid, who have got so much experience in doing it.
“That’s the only team I’d worry about if I was Liverpool but even then, when you saw what happened to [Madrid] against Tottenham at Wembley, a good Liverpool side, I would not put it past them to beat anybody.”

The draw for the semi-finals will take place Friday, with Liverpool, Roma, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich left in the competition.
The Reds have reached the semi-finals for the first time in 10 years and will be hoping to add a sixth main European title to their trophy cabinet.
Liverpool, however should be wary of the threat that Bayern Munich also poses under Jupp Heynckes, who has barely lost a game since taking over from Carlo Ancelotti earlier in the season.
Nevertheless, Liverpool have arguably played the most consistent football of any team in the competition this year, and had Real Madrid not been crowned champions the last two years in a row, you would have to fancy the Merseysiders as favourites for the trophy.
