Derek Ferguson believes Celtic will get things right as usual against Rangers this weekend, and have that big game mentality trait of champions.

Former Rangers midfielder Derek Ferguson believes Celtic’s big game mentality should get them over the line as usual against his former side, as the two meet at Hampden Park in the Scottish Cup semi-final on Sunday.
Ferguson highlighted a number of individuals in the Celtic dressing room who he says have the ability to produce the goods when it matters most.
Leigh Griffiths and Scott Sinclair were two individuals highlighted by the ex-Scotland international, with Griffiths reminding all of us of his worth last week, netting the winner just one minute after being added to the fray against Hamilton.
“They’re big time players, when it comes to the crunch, you look at the last Old Firm game, Rangers were, for me, the better side but big moments in the game, sometimes it can be a Sinclair, sometimes it can be a Griffiths, they’ve just got the knack,” Ferguson said, speaking to Open Goal’s Right in the Coupon on 12th April 2018.
“That’s what I fear from a Rangers perspective, they’ve been there, they’ve done it, and they’re big time players.
“If I’m being really honest with you, I think Celtic will edge it.”

With Ferguson’s comments it mind, it must be said that Celtic have been somewhat riding their luck in recent time, with their only seriously positive result coming last outing against Rangers.
They proved their worth as champions at Ibrox on that day, but it feels as though a reality check is looming and a third loss of the season could happen at any moment.
In saying that, you must give Brendan Rodgers and his squad a tremendous amount of credit for coming through the last derby with a victory. Ibrox is a tough place for any side to go, regardless of quality, and to go a man down, having already conceded twice, showed the grit, determination, but more importantly the experience of the Celtic players.
On top of this, Celtic have made Hampden Park their fortress away from home in recent times, and are yet to lose a game their under Rodgers, and as even a Rangers legend like Ferguson has predicted, it is hard to overlook the Hoops on Sunday.
