Rafael Camacho producing some promising figures for Liverpool youth sides

Portuguese under-17 international Rafael Camacho has been producing some fine displays for Liverpool’s youth teams as he continues to flourish on his path of development.

Camacho was snapped up by Liverpool following a successful trial at the end of the 2015/16 season, having previously spent time with Manchester City and Sporting Lisbon.

Liverpool’s youngsters defeated Manchester United 2-0 in the UEFA Youth League earlier this week, with Camacho coming off the bench to score a stunning goal from out wide, doubling his side’s lead and wrapping up the victory for the Steven Gerrard led youngsters.

Camacho’s goal has drawn a lot of attention from Liverpool fans, many of whom have dubbed him as Mohamed Salah esque in his style of play.

The 17-year-old is extremely versatile and is comfortable playing anywhere across the front line, whether that be as a winger, a centre-forward or even an attacking midfielder.

Without disregarding his goal against Manchester United, however, there is more to the youngster than simply a screamer against his rival team.

Camacho has produced some highly promising figures for the young Reds, with seven goals and four assists across 20 appearances in the U18 Premier League and UEFA Youth League.

On top of this, the young forward has also scored four goals in nine appearances for his country’s under-17 side; impressive figures for any young starlet.

Camacho will be hopeful of emulating fellow youngster and academy teammate Ben Woodburn, who has been able to catch the eye of Jurgen Klopp, and will be surely knocking on the door for his debut in the coming months.
