The Socceroos star is currently unattached and in search of a new club to find form for Australia ahead of Russia 2018, with Queens Park Rangers allegedly keen.
QPR are reportedly interested in Australian football legend Tim Cahill, 38, according to West London Sport.
The former Millwall and Everton man left Melbourne City last month and is currently a free agent, in search of a new club to boost his chances of making his country’s squad for the World Cup this summer.
There were reports of a potential move back to South London with Millwall, while Nottingham Forest have also shown interest in the attacking player. However, neither club seems to be close to landing the veteran’s signature.
Ian Holloway is thought to be very keen to add to his squad yet, with limited finances, a free-agent such as Cahill might be the perfect solution.
Cahill has won 104 caps for his country, bagging a half century of goals, a record for the nation. With his heart set on making the Australia squad this summer there is no doubt that, despite his age, he would be giving his all in order to increase his chances of playing in Russia.
Cahill is vastly experienced with 15 years of English football under his belt and over 100 league goals and, in theory, still would be a great addition to any Championship squad.
Socceroos teammate Massio Luongo currently plays in midfield for Rangers while his former Millwall teammate Marc Bircham is Holloway’s assistant manager at Loftus Road.
Both could play a crucial role if the club are to hand Cahill the reported short-team deal that is on the cards.
