How will Celtic line up on Sunday as they make the trip to Ibrox to face Rangers?
This weekend, Celtic make the trip to Ibrox to take on Rangers as Brendan Rodgers looks to continue his 100 per cent win rate against the Gers away.
The fixture presents Rangers with the opportunity to narrow the gap at the top of the table to three points, while the Celts have the chance to extend their lead back to nine, with Rodgers’ men possessing a game in hand either way.
Rangers go into the clash on the back of some terrific form, with six wins from their last six games, netting plenty of goals along the way.
Despite lacking the current dominance of Rangers in recent fixtures, the Bhoys go into the game on the back of some decent wins at domestic level, and they can take confidence into the game with their experience and previous good fortunes at Ibrox.
Celtic’s injury crisis has been well documented this season, with all positions on the pitch seeming to have experienced their own issues at various points.
Craig Gordon continues to be a big miss in goal, while Dedryk Boyata will miss the trip through a knee injury. Stuart Armstrong, Nir Bitton and Jonny Hayes also miss out and Mikael Lustig is unavailable through suspension.
Dorus De Vries is expected to start in goal once again in place of Gordon and, to accommodate the fact that Lustig is out, while also allowing a pair of strikers to start up top, we should see a trio of central defenders in Marvin Compper, Kristoffer Ajer and Jozo Simnovic.
Kieran Tierney and James Forrest – two of the club’s standout performers this term – will start on the flanks in the wing-back positions, while the midfield three of Scott Brown, Olivier Ntcham and Tom Rogic are expected to get the nod.
Brown and Ntcham will have a vital role to play in holding things together in the middle of the park on Sunday, while Rogic should feature in his usual slightly advanced role.
Up top, following a stunning second half display against Morton, Odsonne Edouard is expected to partner Moussa Dembele at the head of attack.
