Last night, Norwich City hosted Nottingham Forest at Carrow Road as the two sides played out a hard fought 0-0 draw to split the points.

The Canaries shared the better chances and were unlucky to get the breakthrough, with Forest having to rely on the saves of Costel Pantilimon to keep the match scoreless. However Aitor Karanka, the players and the Forest fans will take positives from their away point ahead of the weekend match against Derby County.

Forest currently sit 15th in the Championship on 44 points, four points behind Norwich, although the Canaries have a game in hand.

Following the goalless draw, Reds fans took to Twitter to express their feelings, with some highlighting Karanka’s team selection as a point of discussion. Many seemed perplexed at the inclusion of on loan Everton midfielder Kieran Dowell, while others praised the youngster and were happy to see him start.

Dowell is the club’s current top scorer this season with 10 goals, and he enjoyed a terrific first half to the campaign in a Forest shirt. However, since the festive period his form has dipped dramatically.

Forest fans were in fact calling out to see another attacker in Lee Tomlin, who has performed magnificently since his loan move from Cardiff City, with three goals in six appearances so far.

Given Tomlin’s form since his arrival, the manager may have decided not to risk the 29-year-old ahead of the Derby fixture, with the forward having picked up a slight niggle last weekend against Birmingham.
