Rangers’ Mexican flop Eduardo Herrera has been tipped to leave the club come the end of the season.

Reports from the Daily Record have emerged today suggesting that Rangers flop Eduardo Herrera will depart the club at the end of the season.

A Pedro Caixinha signing, the Mexican international has been bitterly disappointing having netted just two goals during his time in Glasgow in over 20 appearances.

With numerous players now ahead of him in the pecking order at Ibrox, a move away from Rangers seems like a logical move for the 29-year-old.

Mexican outfit Chivas appear to be the front runners in terms of signing Herrera, and given his lack of form in a blue shirt, Rangers will be happy to part ways with him.

With Herrera’s departure looking near certain, even if the Gers retain Alfredo Morelos and Jason Cummings next season, a spot has now opened up for a new striker, and Murty, or whoever is in charge of the club next season, should be doing all they can to bring Ollie McBurnie to Ibrox.

The Scottish youngster is currently on loan at Barnsley from Swansea City and has been included in Alex McLeish’s Scotland squad for two upcoming friendlies.

With five goals in seven appearances for the Championship club, McBurnie continues to look like the real deal and Swansea may well wish to retain his services.

However, should Rangers come calling, and with the opportunity of an international career with Scotland beckoning, the chance of becoming an Ibrox star may be too tempting for the 21-year-old to turn down.

Given Rangers current financial situation, a loan deal for McBurnie could well be brokered in a similar fashion to Jason Cummings in January earlier this season.

But there is no doubt that the Gers should be considering a move for the Leeds-born Scotland international, who is his club’s second top scorer having played only seven games so far this campaign.
