Former Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was full of praise for Liverpool’s attacking trio after their latest display.
Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah took his season tally to 32 goals after scoring against Newcastle United, as he continues to challenge Harry Kane for this year’s Golden Boot.
Salah, 25, has now netted in his last seven Premier League outings, as he enjoys one of the greatest first seasons for an English top flight side for some time. However, despite the Egyptian stealing all the headlines, his Liverpool colleague was quick to share the praise among the Reds’ trio of attackers.
Both Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino have significantly contributed, along with Salah, to the success of the team. The Senegalese took his season tally to 14 in all competitions with his strike against Newcastle, while the Brazilian is enjoying his best scoring season to date with 22 so far.
“Yeah [Salah has] been on fire and he;s been doing it all season,” the former Arsenal star said. “It’s hard enough doing it for a few games let alone all year round.
“It’s not just Mo, [Mane] as well have been brilliant and [Firmino] does a lot of amazing work up there that sometimes goes a bit unnoticed when Mo is scoring two or three a game.
“But no, the three up there have been brilliant.”
Liverpool moved ahead of Manchester United into second place after their win against Newcastle, although Jose Mourinho’s men have the chance to put that right when they take on Crystal Palace this evening.
The title may be gone, but the Reds are doing a fine job of ensuring Champions League football for next season as they go about trying to finish the current campaign as strong as possible.
