Liverpool’s German utility man has been attracting a lot of interest from several clubs following his decision to decline the offer of a new contract with the Reds.

The 24-year-old has been tipped to join Juventus at the end of the season, with the Old Lady reportedly very interested in him. However, Can has since insisted that he will not make a decision on his future until the end of the campaign.

Can is a born leader and has 20 Germany caps to his name so far, but his versatility is what makes him a real asset. The former Bayern Munich youth player has experience playing as a central midfielder, defensive midfielder, right-back and centre-back and has demonstrated quality in each of those positions.

With Juventus appearing to be near certain to sign him, Spanish giants Real Madrid have emerged as the latest team to be interested in his services, and Spanish media outlet Don Balon have claimed that Can is extremely keen on a potential move to the Bernabeu.

According to TalkSport, Los Blancos are attempting to hijack Juventus interest and land Can for themselves, whose current Anfield deal expires at the end of the season.

It remains to be seen which club the German will opt for, with a possible move back to Germany to boyhood club Bayern Munich also potentially on the cards, and with less than six months left on his deal he is free to sign a pre-contract with any club he wishes.

His recent quality performances for Liverpool are a reminder as to why clubs of such calibre are interested in his services. However, there is no doubt that Jurgen Klopp and the Reds will want to get the situation sorted as quickly as possible, with Naby Keita set to join up with the squad in the summer from RB Leipzig.
