Research by CIES Football Observatory has shown just how much players’ transfer value in the top five divisions in world football has increased since September 2017.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, due to his stunning form this season, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah tops the table, but the Egyptian is not the only Reds star to be named in the top six.

Interestingly, five of the top six are all Premier League players, whilst PSG’s Kylian Mbappe is the only non-English based player to make the list.

According to the CIES Observatory statistic experts, Salah’s transfer value has increased from €88.1m to a staggering €162.8m.

The Liverpool forward’s meteoric rise to the top of European football has been quite astonishing. Having been deemed a failure at Chelsea, Salah was shipped off to Roma last season and enjoyed a decent season in Serie A having spent the previous year on loan with the Italian giants.

However, even with his strong form for Roma, nobody could have predicted his impact in the Premier League this season. With Harry Kane out injured, Salah now has a huge chance to claim the Golden Boot, with 24 goals in the league so far.

His variety of goals and neat finishes have clearly been at the heart of his skyrocketing transfer value, which has increased more than the likes of Ederson Moraes, Leroy Sane and Gabriel Jesus, who sit behind Salah in the list.

After Mbappe, Salah’s Reds teammate Joe Gomez is a surprise inclusion, and is the players with the sixth most increased transfer value according to CIES.

Gomez has also enjoyed a rise to prominence this season and looks like a potential long term centre-back option for Jurgen Klopp’s side, whose transfer value has increased from a mere €9m to €57.3m.
