The Aberdeen front man would be worth a punt for Leeds United.

Today marks the four-year anniversary of Aberdeen’s signing of Adam Rooney, 29.
The Irish striker was quick to remind his fans via a tweet, in which he highlighted his impressive scoring record as a Dons player.
Rooney has somewhat slipped under the radar in recent seasons, despite continually chipping away at the goals year on year.
He finished the 2014/2015 season with a tally of 28, backing it up the following two years with 20 goals each time. This term, he has netted seven so far as he looks to hit 20 or more goals for the fourth consecutive season.
To put it in perspective, Rooney scored three more goals in the league than Celtic’s Moussa Dembele last season, who has been linked with a big-money move away from Parkhead to the Premier League this January.

With 174 career goals to date, the 29-year-old may be worth a punt for Championship sides in search of a striker.
Aberdeen has become somewhat of a shop window under Derek McInnes in recent times. In Rangers’ absence from the peak of Scottish football, the Pittodrie club have emerged as the nation’s standout team behind Celtic.
This season, the likes of Jonny Hayes, Ryan Jack and Kenny McLean have all secured moved away to Celtic, Rangers and Norwich City respectively, while multiple clubs have shown a keen interest in landing youngster Scott McKenna.
But for some reason, Rooney’s name has tended not be included amongst the transfer rumours.

Leeds United are believed to be pursuing Aston Villa striker Ross McCormark, in a bid to bring their former player back to Elland Road. Villa are reportedly asking for £7m from Leeds, who are keen on a double deal for both McCormack and Tommy Elphick.
Fulham have been heavily linked with a move for Newcastle’s Dwight Gayle. Gayle, who has seriously struggled for the Toon this year, would cost Fulham a rumoured £15million; big money for a Championship side to spend.
With Hayes, arguably Aberdeen’s standout player, moving to Celtic in the summer for a ‘mere’ £1million (BBC), Rooney would cost nowhere near the sums of money being talked about for the potential targets mentioned above, but would bring a similar, if not superior, eye for goal for only a small portion of the price to a Leeds side in need of striking reinforcements.
Who knows, he could be the difference between promotion and disappointing for either Leeds or Fulham; both of whom are dreaming of a return to the top flight.
