Cammy Bell has been highly impressive for Hibs on the last couple of outings and is beginning to attract interest from a number of trams down south including Bristol City.

Rangers goalkeeper Cammy Bell (c) thwarts a Hibs attack during the Scottish Championship match between Hibernian and Rangers at Easter Road on March 22, 2015 in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Britsol City manager Lee Johnson is reportedly interested in a reunion with former Kilmarnock teammate Cammy Bell according to The Sun.

The 31-year-old stopper has featured in Hibs’ recent fixtures having come into the side for the suspended Ofir Marciano, and looked highly impressive, producing a string of fine saves to keep his side in the game.

With Johnson on the look out for a back up shot stopper for next season, Bell has reminded all just what a fine ‘keeper he is, and his experience has clearly caught the eye of his former teammate.

Johnson and Bell played alongside each other during the 2012/13 season at Rugby Park, which was the Bristol City manager’s final season in professional football and the goalkeeper’s last season at Killie before earning a move to Rangers.

Aged 31, Bell still has plenty of years left in him as a goalie, and would provide a more than credible back up option to current Robins number one Frank Fielding.

Johnson’s interest in his former teammate actually dates back to 2016 when Bell was plying his trade with Dundee United, and doing a brilliant job at that, when reports first emerged of Britsol City’s admiration of the former Scotland international.

Having never tested himself in England, the chance to ditch a bench warming spot at Easter Road for a place in an English Championship squad could be too enticing to turn down for Bell, especially considering his existing connection with potential manager Johnson.

Bell’s current Hibs deal only lasts until the end of the season, having been picked up on a free in January after being released by Kilmarnock, and therefore would cost the club nothing to bring him in.
