Celtic coach John Kennedy has provided an update regarding the fitness of Leigh Griffiths, Patrick Roberts and Kieran Tierney.

John Kennedy has stated that the Celtic management will make the decision on whether or not to play those returning from injury as late as possible before the Bhoys’ match against Ross County.
The Celtic squad has been hampered with injuries throughout the season, with a fair share of players spending significant stints on the sidelines. The club have been without star striker Leigh Griffiths since the Scotsman picked up an injury in January, while Patrick Roberts has only recently returned from a setback of his own.
Kieran Tierney was forced to withdraw from the Scotland squad for the recent friendlies having picked up a knock before the last outing against Motherwell.

“Leigh’s back in training with the group again now. He’s been out for a period of time, so it’s just a case of getting him fit again and back on the pitch to help with the run-in,” the former Celt said.
“Some of the guys who weren’t away like Patrick Roberts and Marvin Compper have been training hard. Kieran is still receiving treatment but hopefully we will know a bit closer to the game.
“We will make decisions on them as late as possible.”
With 20-year-old Calvin Miller as the only other out-and-out left-back in the squad, Brendan Rodgers will be itching for Tierney to regain fitness ahead of the next set of fixtures, with the Scottish Cup semi-final against Rangers approaching rapidly.

Patrick Roberts, who is nearing the end of his loan deal and will most likely return to Manchester City in the summer, will be eagerly anticipating his chance, with eyes on finishing the season strongly with Celtic and reminding the City coaching staff what he can do.
As for Griffiths, Scotland were evidently lacking their first choice number nine in their two recent friendlies, and his value to Celtic and the national team remains as strong as ever. Odsonne Edouard and Moussa Dembele have helped share the goal-scoring burden in his absence, but there is no doubt the team will welcome back the 27-year-old, who is three shy of a century of goals in a Hoops shirt.
