Lucas Moura finally earned his first Premier League start last night as Spurs drew 1-1 with Brighton away, having joined the club back in January from Ligue 1 giants PSG.

The Brazilian wide man has made eight appearances for Tottenham so far, three of which have come in the FA Cup, scoring one goal along the way.

With one trophy still left to play for this season, the 25-year-old will be hoping he can continue his run of six years of winning a trophy, and help Spurs to their first piece of silverware in a decade.

Such achievement would be a great tone setter for the years to come for Lucas, who feels he has a lot to offer his new side as they continue their development into one of the most impressive sides in Europe.

Speaking to Spurs TV after his first start, Lucas said: “It’s a big moment for me, I’m happy for that and I waited a lot for it

“It’s a dream to play in the Premier League and to start the game. I’m so happy here, everyone has helped me, my teammates and the staff.”

Lucas went on to describe every game as a ‘war’, but said that the physicality of the English game will only help him to improve his own.

With Lucas and Son Heung-Min in the starting line up, the Spurs side is now looking pacier than ever, allowing Eriksen to play down the central channels as the creative link between the midfield and the attacking trio.

The Brazilian was undoubtedly a great capture for the North London club, and at 25, Spurs will be hoping to make full use of the star as he approaches his peak years as a professional footballer.
