Three possible managers who could come to Spurs if Mauricio Pochettino leaves

Mauricio Pochettino is one of the most sought after managers in the current game, having transformed Tottenham from hopefuls into genuine contenders on all fronts.

It’s still pretty much seems to be a lovefest between Mauricio Pochettino and Tottenham, but there remains water cooler talk that the Argentinian might be tempted away by some of the really big clubs who regularly challenge for – and win – trophies. Tottenham, of course, are having a good season, and an FA Cup / Champion League double is still a possibility.

In the event that Pochettino does, however, eventually move on at some stage, here are three managers who could fill his shoes:

Diego Simeone

A similar mould to the current Tottenham boss, Pochettino’s compatriot and former La Albiceleste teammate Diego Simeone would be more than qualified to take over the reigns in North London.

Simeone has enjoyed a terrific spell with Atletico Madrid, stunning the rest of Spain as he led his team of underdogs to the La Liga title in 2013/2014. The former Atleti player has also delivered a Copa del Rey and Europa League title during his time in Madrid, as well as leading the team to two Champions League finals.

Brendan Rodgers

Brendan Rodgers has been dubbed by many as the best current British manager. Heavily linked with the Arsenal job if Arsene Wenger leaves, Rodgers has been picking up some valuable silverware winning experience north of the border with Celtic.

Celtic’s domestic unbeaten season last term was a stunning acheivement, with the club picking up three domestic trophies, whilst Rodgers also masterminded some decent results in the Champions League against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

Massimiliano Allegri

Current Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri would make a fine replacement for Pochettino – although he could be handed the Italy job. The Italian led Milan to their last Serie A title, before moving on to Turin.

With three consecutive domestic doubles under his belt, as well as two trips to the Champions League finals, Allegri has proven he can both mastermind a title winning campaign.
