Europe’s top scorer so far this season will be assessed ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s trip to Spotland Stadium.

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed via their official Twitter account that leading scorer Harry Kane, 24, is a doubt for the weekend’s FA Cup clash against Rochdale after picking up an ankle injury against Juventus in midweek.
The forward will be assessed along with January arrival Lucas Moura, to determine whether they travel north to Spotland Stadium.
Should Lucas pass the assessment, it may present a great opportunity for the former PSG man to come into some form for Spurs. Domestic cup games against lesser opposition always provide the perfect platform for returning players and new arrivals to get back into their stride in a less pressured environment than the league.
Similarly, the Rochdale tie presents a perfect opportunity for Fernando Llorente to continue sustaining his match fitness, with many fans seeming to be keen for the Spaniard to start.
With news of the Tottenham talisman’s ankle injury, many Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to try to convince Mauricio Pochettino to give the striker a week off, and are wary of Kane aggravating the injury even if he is deemed to be fit.
The 24-year-old rarely misses a game for Spurs, and the FA Cup clash would present an ideal opportunity to give his legs a rest ahead of the season run-in, with the England front man having played nearly 150 club games over the last three seasons.
