The St Mirren youngster has seriously impressed in the Scottish Championship for the Paisley outfit, having scored 13 goals already this term. Nobody has been more impressed, however, than former St Mirren teammate Steven Thompson who only had the highest of praise for the Rangers youth player when speaking to the Scottish Herald.

“He’s not loud, he’s not a show-off, he just gets on with the work,” Thompson said.

“He’s extraordinarily level-headed for one so young, and he doesn’t seem to let anything faze him or bother him.”

Thompson himself speaks with experience when it comes to securing a move to one of the Old Firm giants at a young age. He moved from Dundee United to Rangers as a 23-year-old and is familiar with the unrivalled pressures that come with playing for such a huge club.

“You are going into a room full of superstars […] Lewis will deal with that no problem though,” Thompson added.

“I hope that he doesn’t go there and disappear, and the ironic thing is that he is the sort of player that Celtic could probably be doing with right now.”
