The former Celtic star has allegedly been involved in yet another off the field incident and Lennon has reportedly reached the end of his patience.
Hibs are willing to cut ties with their star forward Anthony Stokes after the Irishman was allegedly involved in off the field antics one again, as reported by the Scottish Sun.
Stokes, 29, has been involved in controversy his entire career and after too many instances of indiscipline it is claimed that Neil Lennon has reached the final straw and is willing to offload the striker this month while he still has the chance.
Charlton Athletic are believed to be interested as they look to bolster their attacking options in their bid for promotion, while there is also interest from an unnamed Polish club.
This is now Stokes’ third stint at Easter Road and his second working under Neil Lennon, and it must feel like the same old story for the Northern Irish manager.
Stokes is one of the highest earners at Hibs and, with Lennon allegedly fed up, he is reportedly happy to take the transfer fee, save on wages, and re-invest in a new forward.
Lennon has been hugely influential on the Republic of Ireland international’s career, having signed him at Celtic in 2010 with Stokes going on to net 76 times in 191 appearances for the Hoops, winning seven trophies along the way.
Stokes has hit decent figures this season too, scoring 11 in 21, and his presence will no doubt be a miss on the field.
It is yet to be confirmed whether Stokes will feature for Hibs this weekend in their Edinburgh Derby clash with Hearts.
