The Everton boss Sam Allardyce revealed the Irishman could make a return ahead of pre-season, and that would be a massive boost to the squad.

Everton boss Sam Allardyce revealed to the media Thursday that James McCarthy could be back playing football in time for the start of the new Premier League season.
In late January, the Irish international suffered a horrific leg break. He was ruled out for the rest of the season after he attempted to block a shot by West Brom forward Salomon Rondon.
The 27-year-old has been a big player for Everton at times during his Goodison Park career and has amassed a total of 132 appearances in a blue shirt since arriving from Wigan in 2013.

In typical fashion, many Everton fans took to Twitter to express their feelings over news of McCarthy’s return.
The reaction was extremely mixed, with some fans seemingly not fussed over the news, whilst others are eagerly awaiting his return. Interestingly, a lot of fans were more concerned with voicing their opinion on Allardyce, with many individuals expressing their views that the former England boss shouldn’t be at the helm to lead the club forward beyond the end of this season.
