Liverpool’s German midfielder Emre Can has been heavily linked with a move away from Anfield and is yet to sign a new deal at the club.

Liverpool midfielder Emre Can returned to Melwood training ground yesterday after being released by the German national team following a sustained injury to his back.
However, with the speculation surrounding his future simply not dying down, despite the midfielder’s words that he will not make a decision until the end of the season, Can took to Instagram to voice a frustrated message to the fans, quashing rumours over where he will be playing his football next season and to reiterate the fact that he will not be making a decision until the current campaign is complete.
The message read: “I’ve just returned from international duty with the German team and working on coming back from injury. Interesting stories about me in the press! I’m no longer going to comment on any false stories or rumours! Looking forward to getting back on the pitch asap. EC.”
Whether Can is a Liverpool player next season or not, as it stands, the 24-year-old has been a crucial figure for Jurgen Klopp this term, appearing in all eight of Liverpool’s Champions League games so far.
Should he miss the trip to Manchester City in the quarter finals, his defensive qualities would be a sore miss, as Liverpool attempt to go about putting a stop to the likes of Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero, Leroy Sane, Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva, who have torn teams apart for fun from start to present this season.
Can may be growing frustrated with speculation over his future, however, it is simply a reaction to his own stubbornness when it comes to making a decision on his own future. As such an important player to his side, Reds fans no doubt wish for him to stay, however, his lack of communication over a new deal/move away has only led fans to grow equally frustrated with the player, who they have begun to accept will not be at Anfield next season.
