The Eagles have reportedly agreed a loan fee which could turn into a permanent deal in the summer.
The Eagles are believed to have agreed a loan fee of £2m for the Cameroonian to bring him to Selhurst Park until the end of the season, with a view to making the switch permanent if Roy Hodgson’s men avoid relegation.
Palace have been long-term admirers of Amadou, however, news broke yesterday that West Ham were attempting to hijack the deal, with the Hammers desperately trying to land a central midfielder before the end of the window.
Nevertheless, it appears that Hodgson’s men have won the race for the 24-year-old, who has made nearly 150 appearances in Ligue 1 for Nancy and Lille.
Should Palace avoid the drop, a fee of £16million would be enough to secure Amadou permanently. His ability to double up as a centre-back is a massive attraction for Hodgson, who is without his star defenders Mamadou Sakho and Scott Dann due to long term injury lay-offs.
With only a few hours remaining in the transfer window, Palace must act quickly to finalise the deal and make it official. However, it looks like the French under-19 international will be making the switch from France to England any moment.
