Celtic will travel to Edinburgh this weekend to take on Hibernian as they look to clinch the league title against Hoops’ legend Neil Lennon’s side.

Ironically, should Lennon mastermind a win over his former club, which he has nearly done twice already this season, Celtic will have to wait until the following weekend for another chance to claim the title, this time against Rangers, which would really be rubbing salt into an already devastating wound.

The Bhoys ran riot against Rangers last weekend as they dumped Graeme Murty and his men out of the Scottish Cup to keep their hopes of a second consecutive title alive.

Speaking to SkySports in the wake of the semi-final win, and with the upcoming final against Motherwell in mind, striker Leigh Griffiths spoke of his side’s sheer dominance when they are on form, insisting that no Scottish team can deal with them, and despite the prospect of winning the title against Rangers if the team loses to Hibs, the club is completely focused on getting it wrapped up this weekend.

“[Motherwell] will be wanting to stop us clinching that treble, but when we bring our A game, then there’s nobody can touch us,” the Scotland international said.

“Everyone in the changing room wants to get [the league] sown up as quickly as possible, whether that be the first game or the last game.

“We will look forward to Saturday and prepare properly and respect Hibs, as we always do, but we will go there looking to get three points.”

The onus will now be on Griffiths to continue working hard to try and claim a starting spot against Motherwell in the final in May. Moussa Dembele, who was magnificent once again against Rangers, is clearly currently edging it in Brendan Rodgers’ books, however, with the added incentive of reaching 100 Celtic goals before the season is out for Griffiths, the former Hibs man will be going all out to prove the manager wrong.
