Celtic and Scotland number one Craig Gordon was thought to be ruled out for the remainder of the season following a knee injury suffered in January.
Celtic fans will take great pleasure from the news that goalkeeper Craig Gordon has returned to training, following a knee injury that he suffered in January which was initially expected to keep him out for the remainder of the season.
Since being sidelined, the 35-year-old has been replaced between the sticks by second choice stopper Dorus De Vries, who has not looked at his best at all and has failed to instil confidence in the Celtic fans.
Having allowed third choice ‘keeper Conor Hazard to go out on loan to Falkirk during the January window, the club were left with only one fit senior goalkeeper and as a result, made a deadline day swoop for Dundee’s Scott Bain.
Since arriving on deadline, however, the 26-year-old former Aberdeen youth player is yet to make a single appearance in a Celtic shirt and should Gordon return soon, may well fail to get on the pitch for the Celts at all before his time in Glasgow is up.

Given the shaky form of De Vries, and Rodgers’ unwillingness to trial Bain, the news of Gordon’s return could not come at a better time.
The Hoops faithful will be hoping their number one can regain match fitness as quick as possible and return between the sticks to help the club ensure the best chance of securing a second domestic treble in a row.
