Birmingham City youngster Beryly Lubala described Tuesday as the best day of his life so far, as the 20-year-old earned his full senior debut for the Blues.

Despite being on the losing end against Bristol City, the midfielder/forward replaced Jeremie Boga after 69 minutes with the scoreline at 2-1.

The 20-year-old made 22 appearances for the Birmingham under-23 side last term, earning himself a new one year deal with the option to extend by a further year.

With not much left to play for in terms of the league season, Birmingham manager Garry Monk may well opt to use Lubala more in the final four games of the campaign to expose the youngster to further senior football. And the Congolese born attacker will be itching to seize his chance and trigger his one year extension option with the hope of making it at St Andrew’s.

“I’m going to remember [the game] all my life. It’s the best day of my life so far,” Lubala told Blues TV.

“I’m just grateful, I’m grateful for the opportunity that the gaffer has gave me,” the youngster added, “It’s amazing playing in front of the Blues fans, they’ve made me feel welcome, chanting my name, so it’s great.”

Following his debut performance, some Birmingham fans took to Twitter to express their reaction and congratulate the youngster, many of whom appear to want to see more of the starlet.
