Barcelona’s top transfer target will miss what could potentially be his last ever Merseyside Derby.
Philippe Coutinho has been ruled out of Liverpool’s Friday night FA Cup tie against arch rivals Everton.
Manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed that the Brazilian, who missed the Reds victory over Burnley on New Years Day, will also miss out on tomorrow’s Merseyside derby due to the same thigh injury.

Last month’s Merseyside derby ended 1-1 after Wayne Rooney’s 77th-minute penalty drew his side equal. Liverpool were hugely unlucky to be on the losing end that day, with a staggering 80 per cent possession and 23 shots; 20 more than their Goodison Park counterparts.

The third round tie is due to kick off at 19:55 and will take place at Anfield. Despite missing his two star players, Klopp did confirm that new £75million signing Virgil van Dijk will likely be included in some capacity in the squad.
“Virgil is obviously healthy, we’ll see what we do with him,” the German added.
Interestingly, Everton are yet to win at the home of their cross-city rivals since the 1999-2000 campaign.
