The last loss at Villa Park came in November against Sheffield Wednesday, and remains Aston Villa’s only home defeat of the season.

Aston Villa fans will be pleased with their side’s current home record, having only lost one game so far this season at Villa Park.

The Villans endured a tough start to their second Championship campaign after dropping out of England’s top flight in 2015/2016, finding themselves in 18th place after the first seven games of the season.

However, since then Steve Bruce’s men have experienced somewhat of a rejuvenation, storming up the league table into the play-off positions.

Before their last outing against Preston North End, which ended as a stalemate, the Villans found themselves in second place, which has since been claimed back by Cardiff City who sit four points ahead.

Villa’s strong home form has undoubtedly been a significant factor in the success of the team so far this season and, should they win promotion in May, their achievement can be greatly attributed to their re-establishment of Villa Park as a fortress.

So far at home, Bruce’s men have bagged 31 goals while conceding only 14, proving extremely difficult to beat in front of their home crowd.

Admittedly, however, had the club possessed greater attacking prowess in many of the fixtures, they would perhaps be sitting ahead of Cardiff, comfortably in second.

The Villa strike force has been somewhat underwhelming despite their position in the table, with the midfield contingent sharing much of the scoring burden.

With the addition of a striker or two in the summer, the Villans could be a force to be reckoned with if they return to the top flight for next season.
