Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, 26, has been heavily linked with a move away from London with a number of foreign clubs, including Marseille, interested in the midfielder’s services.

Wilshere, however, reportedly has no interest in leaving the Emirates and has his heart set on becoming a Gunners legend according to the Daily Mail.

The England international has had his fair share of injury problems since he broke onto the scene, which have continually stagnated his career. He fell out of favour so much so that he spent last season on loan at Bournemouth, only to be recalled to the Arsenal fold this time out.

It is understood that Arsenal are set to offer a new contract to Wilshere, however, for a salary that is less than the approximate £120,000-a-week that he currently earns. Despite this, if his own performances and that of the team are positive, he will be able to recoup the lost salary comfortably with eyes on handing him another new contract should be rediscover his form.

As an Arsenal youth product, Wilshere has always carried a soft spot for the club and has had his eyes on the captaincy since a young boy.

At 26, he still has every chance of becoming an Arsenal legend but he must break beyond the barrier of being labelled as a player with ‘potential’ and finally fulfil it.
