Amid rumours of a potential move away, Kyle Lafferty has say on his future

The Northern Irishman has been linked with a move away to Asia and the Middle East but has had his say on his Hearts future.

Heart of Midlothian striker Kyle Lafferty, 30, has rubbished talks of a move away from Tynecastle this January.

The former Rangers star, who joined Hearts in the summer from Norwich City, has enjoyed an impressive spell with the Jambos so far, finding the net 11 times in all competitions.

If he keeps his scoring for up, the Northern Irishman is due to finish the season with the highest tally of his career to date having hit 15 for Rangers in 2010/2011.

Reports in the Daily Record has suggested that Lafferty was attracting interest from Asia and the Middle East, with the club prepared to let him go for somewhere around £1million.

The rumours surrounding Lafferty were not met well by Hearts fans, many of whom took to Twitter to express their discontent in a bid to convince the striker to stay, only for the 30-year-old himself to quash the rumours with a tweet of his own.

The tweet read:

Not sure where all this moving talk has come from. I’m going knowhere and as iv stated before I hope I am with @JamTarts for a very long time. I am not looking to move anywhere and if something does come around I will leave it up to hearts to decide my future.

Lafferty has become a popular figure around the maroon parts of Edinburgh after his impressive performances, and his former club Rangers may be silently hurting that they did not make more of an effort to re-sign him in the summer.

There is no doubt that he still has what it takes to be a top SPFL striker. The 6ft4in target man played an integral role in Hearts’ 4-0 downing of Celtic as he bagged his team’s second, ending the Celt’s 69-game unbeaten run back in December.
