Stuart Taylor heaps praise on Stoke’s new addition Badou Ndiaye

Despite being on the losing end, Badou Ndiaye enjoyed a terrific debut for the Potters, assisting Xherdan Shaqiri’s early goal.

Stoke City’s first-team coach Stuart Taylor has publicly praised deadline day arrival Badou Ndiaye, 27, after an impressive debut performance against Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth.

The Senegalese international got his Potters career off to a flyer by assisting Xherdan Shaqiri’s goal just five minutes into the game.

Unfortunately for the former Galatasaray man, he was unable to round off the performance with a win, as a spirited Bournemouth side fought back to equalise, going on to take the lead in the 79th minute.

Speaking to the Stoke website, Taylor praised the impact of their new arrival, and believes the 27-year-old will have a huge role to play in the coming week’s as the club desperately seeks to avoid relegation into the Championship.

“I thought Badou’s energy levels last weekend, and his performance on the whole, was absolutely fantastic,” Taylor said, “He went about his business really well right from the off. You ask players when they come in to hit the ground running, and Badou definitely did that.”

The Stoke coach went on to describe Ndiaye as a top class player, ensuring that the club expects the Senegalese to play a big role moving forward.

In an interview with the Stoke website himself, Ndiaye spoke of his belief that Paul Lambert’s squad has plenty of quality to remain in England’s top flight.

The midfielder said: “We have the quality here to move up the table, and as I said before, I am very sure we will do that over the coming weeks.”

Stoke currently remain in the drop zone, level on points with 17th placed Swansea City.

Lambert’s men have a real opportunity to pick up three points as they host Premier League newcomers Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday. A win could see them climb as high as 15th place, dependent on the results of the surrounding teams.
