Riyad Mahrez signing for Manchester City could benefit Leeds United, as they reportedly pursue Brahim Diaz.

According to The Sun, City are prepared to offer Leeds the chance to sign Diaz this summer, and the move could look more appealing to the youngster due to Mahrez’s arrival.

According to the Daily Mail, City have agreed a fee worth £60 million with Leicester for Mahrez, with the transfer expected to go through in the near future.

That deal just makes Diaz’s chances of breaking into City’s first-team even tougher, as there is another obstacle in his path.

The 18-year-old may now see a move to Leeds as his best opportunity to get first-team football next season.

Diaz could be a standout talent at Leeds, and would help to increase the creativity available to Marcelo Bielsa.

Although Lewis Baker has signed, Bielsa’s possession-based approach means there is likely to be room for further attacking minded midfielders to be brought in at Elland Road.

And Diaz may have more encouragement to go out on loan to Leeds, if Mahrez does arrive at City, as expected.
