While Wayne Rooney is heading for Derby County, Championship neighbours Nottingham Forest are reportedly targeting Leonardo Ulloa.

With just two days until the transfer window shuts, two 30-something centre-forwards are being linked with shock moves to the East Midlands.
But while Wayne Rooney is arguably the most gifted English footballer of his generation, a five-time Premier League winner and Manchester United’s all-time record goalscorer, the other is Leonardo Ulloa.
Thanks to Marca, Nottingham Forest have been linked with bringing 33-year-old Ulloa back to English football on the same day that Rooney became Derby County’s most high-profile signing in living memory.
While Derby are clearly thinking big, not to mention outside the box, reports stating Ulloa could be on his way to the City Ground don’t exactly reflect well on Nottingham Forest’s ambition.

You can see why Forest fans are unconvinced. After all, this is a club who have endured their fair share of over-the-hill veterans in recent years.
But Ulloa, even at 33, still has a lot to offer. He was a Premier League champion at Leicester just three years ago after all and his record in the Championship with Brighton was particularly impressive. Last season, he scored 14 goals for Pachuca before his contract expired.
Who knows, perhaps the Argentine is the sort of commanding targetman figure Forest need? They certainly looked blunt in their opening day defeat to West Brom, lacking the kind of impact off the bench that Ulloa would certainly provide.
