Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno has praised Leeds United winger Helder Costa, as quoted in Leeds Live.
Nuno worked with Costa at Wolves, and he has spoken highly of the 26-year-old Portugal international winger.
The Wanderers manager also rates Leeds summer signing Rodrigo highly. Nuno worked with the Spain international – who can operate as a winger or as a striker – when he was in charge of Valencia.
Nuno made the comments about the duo ahead of the Premier League game between Leeds and Wolves at Elland Road on Monday evening.
The Wolves boss told Leeds Live: “When we arrived in the Championship, Helder was injured. They were major injuries and it took a lot of time for him to recover. So that season was not the best for him, but in the first season we were in the Premier League, Helder was immense and had a huge impact on the team.
“He’s a very talented player, but things happen naturally, players move from here to another place. It happens in football. Honestly, I’m delighted he’s showing his quality and enjoying his football.”
Nuno added: “It will be a pleasure to see both Rodrigo and Helder again. I have bonds with them that will last forever. It gave me enormous pleasure, working with them both. They are two fantastic players. Talented players.”
Important players for Leeds United
Costa and Rodrigo are important players for Leeds, who will be aiming to maintain their good run for form with a win against Wolves.
According to WhoScored, Costa has scored two goals and provided one assist in four Premier League games so far this season, while in 2019-20, he scored four goals and provided four assists in 43 Championship games.
Rodrigo, who joined Leeds from Valencia in the summer transfer window, has scored one goal in 153 minutes in the Premier League for the Whites this campaign, according to WhoScored.
