Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has admitted to the Sheffield Star that he would love Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin at Bramall Lane.

Blades sold Calvert-Lewin to Everton back in 2016 for just over £1.5 million, and that is looking like a great bit of business by the Toffees now.

Calvert-Lewin has bagged 13 Premier League goals this term, with his value rising exponentially in the past year at Goodison Park.

And Wilder says that he wishes that Calvert-Lewin was still a Sheffield United player, as he would enjoy working with such a talented forward.

“We would love Dom to still be a Sheffield United player, although I’m not sure he would be because he’s taken enormous strides,” Wilder said.

“He’s a lovely kid and I’m delighted in terms of what he’s done in his career.”

The England youth international actually hasn’t been in blistering form since the restart, but Wilder will surely be warning his defenders about the Everton man’s goalscoring threat.

Calvert-Lewin is a tireless runner, but he is also very strong in the air, and has proven his ability to finish this term.

Calvert-Lewin’s good form has been a bright spot in what has been a disappointing season for Everton, with Carlo Ancelotti’s side currently sat in the bottom half of the Premier League table.
